Meeting 5-26-2010

I.          Call to Order

President Richard Amato called to order the regular meeting of the Public Safety Club at 3:00 P.M. on 5/26/10 inRoom 2205.

II.        Roll Call

President Richard Amato conducted a roll call. The following persons of the Executive Board were present:

III. Approval of minutes from 5-26-10 meeting

1.      Dan Nenni motions to approve $1651.74 made out to “Anglim Flags” for public safety fire academy flags and equipment.  Chad Bradley seconds the motion; Richard Amato calls for a roll call vote.  Nenni-yes, Bradley-yes, Gildea-yes, Goodwin-yes, Craft-yes, Guilford-yes. Vote was unanimous.

2.      Chad Bradley motions to approve $677.60 for the fire truck vinyl lettering made out to “Fast Signs.” Scott Gildea seconds the motion.  Richard Amato calls for a roll call vote.  Bradley-yes, Gildea-yes, Nenni-yes, Goodwin-yes, Craft-yes, Guilford-yes. Vote was unanimous.

3.      Scott Gildea motions to approve up to $225.00 for the purchase of a T.V. for a silent auction.  David Goodwin seconds the motion.  Richard Amato calls for a roll call vote.  Gildea-yes, Goodwin-yes, Bradley-yes, Nenni-yes, Craft-yes, Guilford-yes. Vote was unanimous.

4.      Sam Craft motions to approve $50.00 for additional prizes for the silent auction.  Dan Nenni seconds the motion.  Richard Amato calls for a roll call vote.  Craft-yes, Nenni-yes, Bradley-yes, Gildea-yes, Goodwin-yes, Guilford-yes.  Vote was unanimous.

- Livermore Rodeo Parade (June 12, 2010)

-Membership drive

-fundraising ideas

-Career fair at Monte Vista High School

-EMR at LPC

-Thank you letters for those who donate

-High school visits may include: Cal High, San Ramon High, Foohthill High, Monte Vista High, Amador High, Livermore High, Granada High School

-Fielded trips: Tour of the Santa Rita jail.  Ride on the Sheriffs boat, Columbia Fire Muster.

-The Fire equipment is going to be moved out of the 600 building and moved into two 24X40 ft storage containers plus a Conex storage shed.  We will still be allowed the blacktop for training located next to the 600 building.

-Las Positas Public Safety Club’s picture in the school news paper, as well as us thanking LPC for all of the donated toys.

V. Business

1)  Wednesday at 1800 at building 600, Getting equipment ready for the Wildland academy; i.e. chain saws, blowers, sharpen tools, floto-pumps, maps, PPE, and maps.

2) Football game FST vs. AJ. Ticket price: $1.00, you can buy as many tickets as you want but it only takes one ticket for entrance to the game.  There will be door prizes as well as a silent action.

VI.     Open Forum (Members and Non Members)

No members or non-members came forward with business to be addressed to Club Executive Board.

VII.     Next Meeting

6-1-10 Time: 4:00 P.M. room: Blacktop for Rig washing.

III. Approval of minutes from 5-7-10 meeting

1) Chad Bradley motions to pass $120 to cover part of the cost for the dodge ball fee, $40.00 per team. Josh Barton seconds the motion. Motion was passed with 6 yes votes.

2)  Josh Barton motions to pass up to $2,400 for the flags for color guard.  Sam Craft seconds the motion.  Vote was passed with 6 yes votes.

3) David Goodwin motions to pass up to $200.00 for food and refreshments for the flag football game.  Scott Gildea second the motion. Vote passes with 6 yes votes.

1)  Flag football game, FST vs. AJ. May 21st, 2010 from 3-7pm.  Practices are held Wednesdays from 5-7pm and Fridays from 3-7pm.

2) Washing the rigs on Tuesday June 1st, 2010 at 4:00 p.m.

1.  Josh Barton motions to upload the new Public Safety website.  Chad Bradley seconds the motion; vote was unanimous with 6 yes votes.

  2. Next Club Day April 21st: Selling popcorn, ladder rides, couplings station, and a dunk tank.  All prices to be posted at a later date.
